Freighter stranded on Izu-Oshima Island catches fire

TOKYO, Japan - Black smoke spews from the stranded 56,835-ton freighter Hual Europe on Izu-Ohima Island after a fire broke out on the ship early Nov. 26. The Norwegian-owned Bahamas-registered freighter, carrying some 4,000 automobiles, ran aground on the island on Oct. 1 during a typhoon.
