OTSU, Japan - Photo taken on Dec. 20 shows that guards watching as workers prepare for the demolition of the 65-year-old Toyosato Elementary School building designed by American architect William Merrell Vories (1880-1964). Residents of the town of Toyosato, Shiga Prefecture, have registered their opposition to the demolition.
