(1)Residents accuse town mayor of damaging historic school

OTSU, Japan - Two persons representing the residents of the town of Toyosato, Shiga Prefecture, arrive at the prefectural police headquarters Dec. 24 to file a complaint against town mayor Wasaburo Ono, accusing him of damaging a historic elementary school building after a district court issued an injunction against demolishing the structure. The 65-year-old Toyosato Elementary School building was designed by American architect William Merrell Vories (1880-1964).
