Freestyler Uemura claims 1st World Cup victory

LAKE PLACID, United States - Japan's Aiko Uemura grins after edging out Frenchwoman Sandra Laoura by the narrowest of margins to claim her first World Cup victory at freestyle skiing moguls event in Lake Placid, New York, on Jan. 18. Uemura, who was top in the preliminary heats, put in an outstanding performance in the final to win with 25.84 points with Laoura just behind in second with 25.83.
