Japan Platform to provide humanitarian aid for Iraqi refugees
TOKYO, Japan - Members of Japan Platform, a government-backed consortium of nonprofit aid organizations, tell a news conference in Tokyo on March 19 that they will provide 400 million yen worth of emergency humanitarian assistance to refugees in the event of a U.S.-led war on Iraq. Japan Platform plans to provide medical aid to refugees expected in two areas, an area near Ruwayshid, eastern Jordan, and the Kurdish-populated northern Iraq.
