(1)Japan, Pacific leaders vow SARS vigil
NAGO, Japan - Fijian Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase (L) and Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi give a joint press conference in Nago, Okinawa Prefecture, on May 17 at the end of a two-day summit of Japanese and South Pacific leaders. Two prime ministers co-chaired the meeting, which adopted a statement saying that the leaders resolved to be vigilant over severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
