ECB eyes Hitachi micro chip to prevent counterfeiting

TOKYO, Japan - The European Central Bank (ECB) is considering adopting the world's smallest integrated circuit (the black and white dots on the finger), developed by Hitachi Ltd., to prevent ccounterfeiting of euro bills, Hitachi sources said May 19.

        TSURU, Japan, Dec. 19 Kyodo - Photo shows a magnetically levitated train that set a world speed record of 603 kilometers per hour in a test run conducted by Central Japan Railway Co. on April 21, 2015. The test was conducted using new LO-series cars on the track between Uenohara and Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo. A maglev train service will start between Tokyo's Shinagawa Station and Nagoya in 2027.
