New version of 'Dragon Quest' to be marketed in Sept.

TOKYO, Japan - Game software developer SQUARE ENIX Co. will put on the market Sept. 19 a new version of its popular ''Dragon Quest'' home video game software that includes a plastic sword (foreground) and a small camera (background). If users move the 40-centimeter sword some 1.5 meters away from a TV screen, the camera captures the sword's movement and shows it on the screen.

      TOKYO, Japan - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. said it will begin taking orders on Sept. 1 for its newly developed 103-inch plasma TV, which is the world's largest flat-panel TV, for delivery on the Japanese market. The made-to-order TV unveiled at a pres conference in Tokyo on July 19 has a panel measuring 2.3 meters by 1.2 meters and is expected to retail for 6 million yen (about $51,000).
