Japan woos Taiwanese, H.K. visitors through ads
TOKYO, Japan - The Japanese government is heading a ''Visit Japan Campaign,'' by placing full-page ads (in photo) in newspapers in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The two areas were hard hit by the SARS epidemic and Japan discouraged tourism from there while the epidemic was at its height earlier this year. The ads are scheduled to be published in four Taiwanese newspapers on July 30 and in three Hong Kong newspapers on Aug. 5.
