(1)Part of Kyushu Shinkansen service launched

KAGOSHIMA, Japan - Kyushu Shinkansen bullet train Tsubame No. 1 (L) arrives at Kagoshima-Chuo Station as Tsubame No. 40 leaves the station on March 13. Part of the Kyushu Shinkansen bullet train service opened for business on a 128-kilometer route between Kagoshima-Chuo, Kagoshima Prefecture, and Shin-Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture.

                      A 710-meter tunnel is completed in Fujikawa, Yamanashi Prefecture, on Oct. 13, 2023, for Central Japan Railway Co.'s Linear Chuo Shinkansen maglev trains that will run between Nagoya and Tokyo at speeds of about 500 kilometers per hour.
