Mountaineers scramble to Nagano peaks
KARASAWA, Japan - Colorful tents set up by mountaineers are seen in an aerial view from a Kyodo helicopter May 2 at Karasawa, Nagano Prefecture, a 2,300-meter base for scaling the Hotaka mountains. Lodge staff said some 4,000 people are expected to climb here during the Golden Week holidays.
