Mitsubishi Fuso files recall for 168,002 trucks

TOKYO, Japan - Hideyuki Shibusawa, executive officer in charge of quality technology at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp., speaks at a press conference on May 26 after telling the transport ministry the company will recall 168,002 large vehicles due to clutch-housing defects.

            UD Trucks and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation have introduced collaborative robots to their engine assembly lines on a trial basis, and Hino Motors will expand the use of robots to the production of heavy-duty truck parts by fiscal 2025. UD Trucks has introduced collaborative robots on a trial basis in the large engine assembly line at its Ageo Plant (Ageo City, Saitama Prefecture). In the future, the company plans to introduce collaborative robots by FY 2013 in the assembly of axles for heavy-duty truck parts at its Koga Plant (Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture), after ensuring safety through the use of communication and cameras.
