Oxfam protests against Olympic ''sweatshop'' sportswear

SYDNEY, Australia - Members of Oxfam Community Aid Abroad stage a ''sew-in'' demonstration in Sydney's business district on June 1 featuring masked machinists representing garment workers. The Australian arm of Oxfam International, a charity organization which seeks to alleviate poverty and suffering, said that the Olympics movement is evading its social responsibility by endorsing sportswear produced in sweatshop conditions by millions of exploited workers around the world.
