Chess icon Fischer says U.S. citizen no more
TOKYO, Japan - Masako Suzuki (C), a lawyer for former world chess champion Bobby Fischer looks to John Bosnitch (R), representative of the committee to free Bobby Fischer, during a press conference in Tokyo on Aug. 6. Suzuki said Fischer, currently fighting Japanese and U.S. authorities who accuse him of traveling with an invalid passport, wants to renounce his U.S. citizenship and took his case to court the same day.
