Koizumi to seek firm ties with Americas, U.N. seat on trip
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi answers reporters' questions Sept. 13 at his office shortly before leaving on an 11-day trip, which will take him to Brazil, Mexico and the United States. In New York, he will attend the U.N. General Assembly session to make a pitch for Japan to get a permanent U.N. Security Council seat.
