(2)Work resumes to remove bullet train derailed in Oct. 23 quakes
NAGAOKA, Japan - Cranes are in operation as work resumed on Nov. 10 to remove a 10-car bullet train that derailed on an elevated section of track in the city of Nagaoka in Niigata Prefecture during the massive earthquakes of Oct. 23. The operation to remove the Toki No. 325 train on the Joetsu Shinkansen Line was suspended on Oct. 27 when a powerful aftershock made it dangerous to continue the work.
