KM Biologics begins development of vaccine for novel coronavirus

KM Biologics (Kita Ward, Kumamoto City) has started to develop a vaccine for a new coronavirus infection. At a press conference held on April 25, President Nagasato said, "Our strength lies in the fact that we have skilled technicians and facilities from our days at the Research Institute for Chemotherapy and Serotherapy (KAKETSUKEN). As a member of the Meiji Group, we will do our utmost to expand this business. The new drug will be developed jointly with the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, the Institute of Medical Science of the University of Tokyo, and the National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition. The company will consider using its Kikuchi Research Center in Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, and its Koshi Plant in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, which are capable of producing vaccines for 57 million new influenza cases. Aerology Labs' hybrid drone prototype, the AeroRange Pro.

Aerology Lab (Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture) announced on April 14 that it has developed a prototype of a "purely Japanese" flying robot (drone), "AeroRange Pro" (photo), which consists entirely of parts made in Japan. In general, drones rely on parts made in China for most of their components. The company aims to start mass production in small lots by December. (Minato Ward, Osaka City), which operates an open innovation base, Kobashi Robotics (Minami Ward, Okayama City), which supports mass production, and Liberace (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), which comprehensively supports venture businesses from trial manufacture to mass production. The company is promoting speedy manufacturing in cooperation with town factories in Kansai and other regions. The hybrid drone combines an engine and an electric motor. Honda unveils cleverer, more agile ASIMO robot

TOKYO, Japan - An all-new ASIMO humanoid robot, unveiled by Honda Motor Co. on Nov. 8, 2011, pours a drink into a paper cup from a bottle after opening its lid, in a demonstration in Wako, Saitama Prefecture, near Tokyo, the same day.
