JR West has 46 cases of ATS activation due to driving error
TOKYO, Japan - Transport minister Kazuo Kitagawa (R) receives an interim report on the April 25 fatal derailment on JR West's Fukuchiyama Line from Aircraft and Railway Accidents Investigation Commission Chairman Junzo Sato on Sept. 6. The reports said that West Japan Railway Co. trains experienced 46 incidents of an advanced automatic train stop system being activated due to driving errors or other reasons in fiscal 2004.
