Daiei founder Nakauchi dies at 83
TOKYO, Japan - Daiei Inc. founder Isao Nakauchi (in file photo), once dubbed the king of Japan's retail business, died of a stroke at a hospital in Kobe on Sept. 19, the University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences said. He was 83. Nakauchi had been undergoing medical treatment since suffering a stroke in late August.
