Putin given scroll by Olympic medalist Yamashita
TOKYO, Japan - Russian President Vladimir Putin (R), a judo lover, is presented with a Japanese scroll by Yasuhiro Yamashita (L), judo Olympic gold medalist and professor at Tokai University, during his visit to an art exhibit in Tokyo on Nov. 20 to mark the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Japan and Russia. The characters on the scroll read ''co-prosperity.' It was made by Jigoro Kano, the founder of judo. (Pool photo)
