Politician arranged meeting of gov't official, real estate firm head
MACHIDA, Japan - Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Kosuke Ito speaks with reporters outside his residence in Machida, Tokyo, on Nov. 26. Ito, who served as chief of the former National Land Agency, admitted that he arranged a meeting between an official at the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry and the president of Huser Ltd., a condominium developer, two days before the ministry disclosed the firm had built buildings using falsified quake-resistance data.
