Rakuten, TBS agree to end battle over merger plan

TOKYO, Japan - Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc. President Hiroshi Inoue smiles during a press conference at a Tokyo hotel on Nov. 30 after making a compromise agreement with Rakuten Inc. The accord puts a temporary end to their seven-week battle over Rakuten's attempt to forge a merger with the broadcaster.
