Emperor Akihito greets public on 72nd birthday, worried by snowfall

TOKYO, Japan - Emperor Akihito (2nd from R), accompanied by Empress Michiko (R), crown Prince Naruhito (2nd frl L) and Princess Masako (L), greets well-wishers on his 72nd birthday on Dec. 23. The emperor made an address to the public, expressing his concern about people in trouble due to the recent heavy snowfall in various parts of the country.
