Int'l transport security confab to open in Tokyo
TOKYO, Japan - Ministers and senior officials in charge of transportation from 14 countries hold a two-day Ministerial Conference on International Transport Security in Tokyo on Jan. 12. They will discuss ways to stem terror attacks on public transport systems such as railways, ships and aircraft. The 14 participating countries consist of the G-8 industrialized nations -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States -- plus China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
