Int'l transport security confab to open in Tokyo
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kazuo Kitagawa speaks at the opening session of a two-day Ministerial Conference on International Transport Security that began in Tokyo on Jan. 12 to discuss ways to stem terror attacks on public transport systems such as railways, ships and aircraft. The 14 participating countries consist of the G-8 industrialized nations -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States -- plus China, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
