International bird flu funding conference begins in Beijing

BEIJING, China - A two-day international conference aiming at raising $1.2 billion-1.4 billion to help developing nations fight avian influenza and a potential flu pandemic is held in Beijing on Jan. 17. The conference was co-sponsored by China, the World Bank and the European Commission and attended by representatives from over 80 countries and 22 international organizations.
