Panel concludes professor faked research papers

TOKYO, Japan - Kazunari Taira, a professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Engineering, speaks during a news conference at the university on Jan. 27. The university's investigative panel released a report the same day on the research, indicating the professor fabricated research papers, although the professor said the report was the product of a misunderstanding.
