China marks Lunar New Year holiday with firecrackers
BEIJING, China - Beijing citizens mark the Lunar New Year, the biggest holiday on the Chinese calendar, with traditional firecrackers on Jan. 29 as they were allowed to set off fireworks and firecrackers for the first time since 1993. ''I'm very happy this is being allowed again,'' Li Zaijin, a 46-year-old Beijing taxi driver, said about the lifting of the ban on fireworks.
