HIMEJI, Japan - The main building of Himeji Castle (in file photo), designated as a world cultural heritage site and Japanese national treasure, in Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, could collapse in a fairly powerful earthquake, the Architectural Research Association said on Feb. 10. It said the castle's main building, the Daitenshu, a six-story building about 46 meters high, could collapse above the third floor in an earthquake registering a high 5 on the Japanese seismic scale of 7.
