Nokia to set up 3G cellphone venture for global market

TOKYO, Japan - Tyler McGee (R), president of the Japan unit of Finland's Nokia Corp., and Takenori Ugari, senior officer of Japan's Sanyo Electric Co., shake hands during a news conference in Tokyo on Feb. 14. They said Nokia and Sanyo plan to form a joint venture as early as this summer to develop and produce third-generation mobile phones for the global market.
