About 27 hurt as suspected thieves use tear gas at Tokyo station

TOKYO, Japan - Firefighters in protective gear work after four suspected pickpockets released a chemical spray on a platform at Tokyo's Nishi-Nippori Station on April 6. The incident left 27 people, including two police officers and train passengers, injured, the police and firefighters said.

            TSU, Japan - A two-car local train operated by Kintetsu Corp. derailed near Higashiaoyama Station at dawn Feb. 27 in the city of Tsu, Mie Prefecture. Police suspect the derailment occurred as the train hit a device that had been left on the track after being used for overnight maintenance work.
