Huge ads come out on roofs of exhibition hall in Yokohama

YOKOHAMA, Japan - Huge advertising posters of women in swim suits for a cosmetics company are put up on the roof of a Pacifico Yokohama exhibition hall in Kanagawa Prefecture on April 18. The full display, which aims to become listed as the world's largest ad in the Guinness Book of Records, will cover the entire roof of the hall from April 26 until May 14.

    MORIOKA, Japan - This is a photo of a 56-leaf clover bred by farmer Shigeo Obara of Hanamaki in the northeastern Japan prefecture of Iwate. Obara, 84, who discovered the clover on May 10, will seek to have it listed in the Guinness Book of Records as a world record for the most number of leaves on a clover stem, surpassing the previous record of 18 leaves on a clover discovered by Obara in 2002. ''I never dreamed of seeing this many leaves on a clover,'' he said, adding he had counted them by putting decals on each leaf.
