Robust global sales push Nissan profits to record highs
TOKYO, Japan - Nissan Motor Co. Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn speaks at a press conference in Tokyo on April 2 on the group's financial statement for the year to March 31. He said Nissan's group net profit for fiscal 2005 rose 1.1 percent from a year earlier to 518.05 billion yen ($4.52 billion), or 126.94 yen per share, reaching record highs for the six straight year on strong global sales. The strong result came despite ''headwinds and turbulence,'' Ghosn said.
