Court rejects suit over Dominican Republic emigration
TOKYO, Japan - Japanese emigrants to the Dominican Republic and their surviving kin, joined by their lawyers and supporters, arrive at the Tokyo District Court on June 7 to attend a court session on the damages suit they filed against the state. The plaintiffs claimed they have endured unexpected hardships as a result of a government-initiated emigration program in late 1950s.
