Toyota offers apology over vehicle defect

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. President Katsuaki Watanabe bows in a gesture of apology at a press conference in Tokyo on July 20 I connection with allegations that the automaker left unattended a defect in a sport utility vehicle model for eight years until it caused an accident in 2004.
