September economic report avoids declaring end to deflation

TOKYO, Japan - Economic and fiscal policy minister Kaoru Yosano speaks at a press conference on Sept. 15 after the government released a monthly economic report for September. The report avoided declaring that the nation's economy has moved out of deflation, although it maintained a sanguine assessment on the overall economic situation for the seventh consecutive month.
