Deep Impact leaves for Hokkaido after victory in Arima Kinen
FUNABASHI, Japan - Deep Impact, who ended his racing career Dec. 24 with a victory in the Arima Kinen, boards a horse box at Nakayama Racecourse in Chiba Prefecture on Dec. 25 to leave for Hokkaido to retire to stud. The 4-year-old came third in the Prix de L'arc de Triomphe in France in October but was disqualified for testing positive for a banned substance.
