Asano to declare candidacy for Tokyo gubernatorial race

TOKYO, Japan - Former Miyagi Gov. Shiro Asano (file photo) on March 2 expressed willingness to challenge Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara, who is planning to seek a third four-year term in the Tokyo gubernatorial election slated for April.
