Tokyo gubernatorial election draws Ishihara, 13 other candidates

TOKYO, Japan - People crowd the thoroughfare near JR Yurakucho Station in Tokyo to listen to candidates on March 22 as the campaigning begins for the April 8 Tokyo gubernatorial election. A total of 14 candidates including incumbent Gov. Shintaro Ishihara and former Miyagi Gov. Shiro Asano officially filed for candidacy.
