M6.9 quake strikes central Japan, 1 dead, 189 injured
WAJIMA, Japan - Kensei Mizote (C), the minister in charge of the National Safety Commission, visits earthquake-stricken areas in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, on March 26, a day after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit the Hokuriku region in central Japan, leaving one person dead, 189 injured and hundreds of homes damaged. Mizote promised during a meeting with Wajima officials that the government will ''do everything possible'' to help the quake victims.
