Yokohama gets new windmill icon at waterfront
TOKYO, Japan - Construction of a new Yokohama waterfront icon -- a huge windmill that provides multicolor illumination at night -- was completed on March 26. The windmill, which is 118 meters high with blades extending 80 meters long, has a capacity to produce 3 million kilowatts of electricity a year. At night, the windmill is illuminated in green, yellow, red and green, the color changing every 30 minutes depending on the direction of the wind.
