New commercial complex Tokyo Midtown opens in Roppongi area
TOKYO, Japan - A new landmark business and commercial complex opened on March 30 in Tokyo's Roppongi district, featuring a 248-meter-tall tower, one of the tallest skyscrapers in the capital, as its core facility. The Tokyo Midtown complex, built on the 10-hectare site of the former Defense Agency under a 370-billion-yen project, houses luxury hotel Ritz-Carlton Tokyo on the upper floors of the tower. The complex also houses some 130 shops and restaurants, upscale apartments, a museum and business offices, including the head offices of Fujifilm Holdings Corp. and game software and entertainment business firm Konami Corp.
