China signs deal to lift ban on Japanese rice imports
TOKYO, Japan - Japan's Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Toshikatsu Matsuoka (R) and Li Changjiang (L), director of the Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, sign a rice trade resumption accord in Tokyo on April 11. Beijing's lifting of its four-year ban on Japanese rice imports paves the way for Japan to resume rice shipments to China as early as July.
