U.S. willing to help Japan choose new mainstay fighters
WASHINGTON, United States - A photo taken in February 2007 shows a state-of-the-art F-22A stealth fighter landing at Kadena air base in Okinawa. Dennis Wilder, senior director for East Asian affairs at the National Security Council, said on April 25 that the United States wants to help Japan choose new fighters to replace the aging F-4EJ fighters to be scrapped from fiscal 2008.
