Top court denies Chinese individuals' right to seek war reparation
TOKYO, Japan - One of plaintiffs speak in tears at a press conference after Japan's Supreme Court ruled that Chinese individuals have no right to demand war reparations from Japan under postwar agreements in its first ruling on the controversial issue on April 27. The decision will effectively conclude many other ongoing wartime compensation suits, filed mainly by Chinese and South Koreans, which will look to the top court's decision for guidance.
