Vodka stuns colts to win Japanese Derby

TOKYO, Japan - Third pick Vodka (L) wins the Japanese Derby on May 27, becoming the first female horse in 64 years to take command of the race, the second leg of the Triple Crown series. The 3-year-old filly outclassed the 17 colts in the 18-horse field, surging past front-running Asakusa Kings after the final bend for a three-length victory at Tokyo Racecourse.
