Gov't upbeat on economy
TOKYO, Japan - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe (2nd from left) presides over a meeting of economic ministers at his office on June 18. A monthly report endorsed at the meeting said, ''The Japanese economy is recovering, despite weakness in industrial production in some sectors.'' The report made a brighter assessment of private consumption than the previous month.
