Tokyo Electric plays down safety concerns on quake-hit plant
TOKYO, Japan - Ichiro Takekuro, an executive vice president of Tokyo Electric Power Co., speaks at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Tokyo on July 25, playing down mounting safety concerns both inside and outside of Japan over its quake-hit waterfront nuclear power station in Niigata Prefecture, saying the radioactive leaks into the sea and air after the quake were ''extremely small.''
