TEPCO posts VP at Kashiwazaki to oversee nuclear plant repair

KASHIWAZAKI, Japan - Tokyo Electric Power Co. Vice President Ichiro Takekuro addresses employees during the morning assembly at TEPCO's Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture on July 30. The assignment reflects the priority at TEPCO as the utility works to get the quake-stricken nuclear plant back to operation. A fire erupted at the plant and radioactive water leaked from the facility following the magnitude-6.8 earthquake which struck the region on July 16.
