Rice seeks Japan's continued role in Afghan mission
NEW YORK, United States - U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (L) and Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura shake hands at the start of their talks at a New York hotel on Sept. 23. Rice told Machimura the United States hopes Japan remains committed to its role in the U.S.-led antiterrorism operations in and around Afghanistan, Japanese officials said.
